School Counseling Program Vision:

The Marshall Elementary School Counseling Department envisions a future which promotes lifelong learning for all students. We will foster a positive environment that instills a belief in self, encourages social-emotional and academic success, and supports differentiating services and programs based on students' developmental needs. Students strive to think in a positive way about their long-term goals, which includes career readiness, becoming productive members of society both locally and globally.

School Counseling Mission:

The school counseling program at Marshall Elementary School provides equitable access to a data-driven, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive comprehensive school counseling program and inspires all students to maximize their unique potential. The school counseling program is dedicated to recognizing each student as a unique individual and preparing every student socially, academically, and emotionally for present and future challenges. We advocate for every student and work in collaborative partnerships to empower students to become lifelong learners who are responsible, productive citizens.

Belief Statements:

All students can achieve and be successful learners.
All students can expect that school is a safe and nurturing environment.
All students will have access to high quality school counseling services, provided by a full-time licensed, professional school counselors.
All students’ ethnic, cultural, racial differences are considered in the design and delivery of school counseling services.
The school counselors’ primary purpose is to advocate for the student.
Counselors will apply the latest research-based interventions to fit individual student needs
Counselors will abide by ethical and moral standards as outlined by the American School Counselor Association.

PWCS cares deeply about students' emotional well-being during their time away from school. If a student is in need of emotional support during this time, please feel free to send an email to [email protected]. A school mental health or health professional will answer and offer virtual support to students to the best of their ability. This email is not to be used for emergency situations as it will not be monitored 24 hours a day. If a student is ever in an emergency situation he/she is encouraged to call 911 or utilize one of the resources listed below:
