Hello, my name is Zooba Khawaja, and I am thrilled to be your Parent Liaison at Marshall Elementary. With a passion for fostering strong relationships between families and the school, I am here to support you and ensure that you feel welcomed, informed, and involved in your child’s education.
As a Parent Liaison, my goal is to empower parents to actively participate in their child’s academic journey. Research shows that family engagement in schools contribute to positive student outcomes, including improved student achievement, decreased disciplinary issues, improved parent-teacher and teacher-student relationships, and improved school environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Communication: Serve as a bridge between parents and the school, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Resource Provision: Provide parents with information and resources to support their child’s learning and development.
- Event Coordination: Organize and facilitate school events, workshops, and meetings to engage parents.
- Support Services: Assist parents in navigating school policies, procedures, and available support services.
- Feedback Collection: Gather and relay parent feedback to school administration to improve school programs and policies.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and concerns of parents and students within the school community.
