Parent Attendance Information

Marshall Attendance FAQs

Why did I receive an absence notification phone call?

When a student is marked absent by their homeroom teacher, even if the teacher and/or school is aware of the reason for the absence, an automated phone call will occur at approximately 10:00 a.m. on the day of the absence to the parent/guardian.

How do I acknowledge an absence for my student?

ParentVUE

Absences that are on the same day, or up to 30 days in advance, can be acknowledged through ParentVUE. Open ParentVUE and choose Report Absences next to your student's name. Please only use this for full day absences, not early dismissals or tardy arrivals.

Email/Signed Note

Alternatively, a parent/guardian can either send in a signed note, or an email to [email protected] from the email address associated with your ParentVUE account, including the following information:

  • Student's first and last name and homeroom teacher
  • The date(s) of absence(s)
  • The reason for the absence (if due to illness, please provide what the student's symptoms are and when they began)
  • Pursuant to county regulations, absence acknowledgments should be received within five days from the absence and will be reviewed/updated by the school.

What if I need to pick up my child early from school?

For early dismissals, please come to door 1, and provide a valid picture ID. The student will be called down to the office upon your arrival to the school. Additionally, early dismissals will need to occur by 3:00 p.m., unless there is an extenuating circumstance.
