MEET CHLOE ROSE: Labrador Retriever
Chloe Rose is certified, licensed, and insured as a therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (Therapy Dog |Therapy Dog Organizations (therapydogs.com)). Also, Chloe has her Community Canine Good Citizen, Canine Community, and Therapy Dog certification through the American Kennel Club (AKC).
She is a full bred Labrador Retriever who is five years old and weighs 90 lbs. She was named after her Mom, Pearl River Rose, and her aunt, Sadie River Rose. I am lucky to be Chloe Rose’s owner and handler. We spent two years training to be an obedient dog and ready for all types of clients.
Chloe is gentle and patient with children. She is accustomed to heavy-handed petting. “Sloppy petting,” as we call it, was part of her training. Chloe loves to be petted and enjoys having books read to her. She is the perfect dog for children who may be afraid to interact with a dog. She does especially well with special needs children.
Chloe never met a treat she didn’t like. Her favorite treat is McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets which she gets once a month. She loves the lady at Dunkin Donut because there is always a biscuit waiting for her. She knows a few tricks, but I think I will save it as a surprise for the children.
We currently have assignments at area elementary schools and colleges during exam week and make occasional visits to the Navy Yard and Bolling AFB in DC, as well as foundations that specialize in supporting families of veterans living with PTSD. We love the work we do.
Chloe will be visiting our building every other Tuesday (beginning March 25) until the end of the school year.
