Sarah Riechers - Music

Mrs. Riechers

Mrs. Riechers is currently in her 15th year teaching elementary general music and her 8th year at Marshall Elementary School. Her philosophy is that music education should open up the ears and hearts of children and empower and embolden them to integrate music-making into their lives. Her goal for her students is that they discover the musicality and creativity that they already have and learn the skills to express it. Her hope is that when they grow into adults they will be comfortable singing and dancing with their own families and that the skills and confidence that they grow in elementary school will launch them into a thorough enjoyment of music that lasts their whole lives.

Mrs. Riechers receive her Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from UMASS Amherst and is currently pursuing her Master of Music Education. She is the past chair of the Virginia Organization of Kodaly Educators' Children's Choral Festival and has served on the board of the organization. She currently lives in Manassas with her husband and two children, Caeden and Charlotte. In her free time she likes to read, make art, and listen to podcasts.

Mrs. Riechers can be reached via email at [email protected].
